Brooklyn Guitar Lessons with Bryan Wade

Play Guitar the Way You Want To

One-on-one guitar lessons for adults.
We focus on the songs you love, the skills that matter to you, and finding the most natural, comfortable way for your hands to make the music.
Whether you’re new to the guitar or have been playing for years, lessons are guided by your goals, your sound, and your curiosity.

Learning guitar can be more than just a hobby.

It can help you unwind, spend some time on your own, express yourself, connect with other people, or finally play the songs that have been living in your head for years.

It can also be frustrating.

Maybe you’ve worked with  videos, apps, online lessons or books, and still feel stuck. Maybe you know what you’re supposed to do — but it just doesn’t sound or feel right when you play it.

That’s because books, videos, and apps all share one major limitation:

They can’t hear you.

Why So Many Guitarists Get Stuck

Online resources are great. I use them too.

But they can’t listen to your hands, your timing, your touch, or the way your body interacts with the instrument.

Even well-meaning friends or past teachers sometimes focus on information instead of listening.

Real progress happens when someone:

  • actually hears how you play
  • understands what you’re trying to express
  • helps you take the next step — not ten steps ahead

That’s what my lessons are built around.

Guitar Lessons Centered Around You

If you really want to improve, there comes a point where working with an experienced instructor makes all the difference.

You deserve a teacher who:

  • really listens to you and your sound
  • puts your musical interests first
  • works with your learning style
  • helps you avoid getting bored or stuck
  • helps you develop your own voice on the guitar

That’s exactly how I teach.

Hi — I’m Bryan Wade

I’ve been playing guitar for over 35 years and teaching for more than 25.
Music is my life — I’ve built it around playing, writing, performing, and helping other musicians grow.

Over the years, I’ve helped hundreds of players:

  • start from scratch
  • break through long plateaus
  • gain confidence playing with others
  • sing while they play
  • write songs
  • and feel at home on the guitar

But enough about me — what matters is you.

What Students Say

“Bryan doesn’t teach guitar as just an instrument. He teaches it like it’s an extension of what you think and feel.”
Nolan M.

“When I’m stuck, Bryan always finds another way in. He really gets how I learn.”

“Bryan brings music and creativity out of you.”
Laura K.

How Lessons Usually Work

Most students work with me in weekly private guitar lessons, which offer the best balance of structure and freedom.
You bring:
•the music you love
•your questions
•your goals (or curiosity, if you’re not sure yet)
I help you:
•clarify what you want to play
•build skills that actually support it
•hear what’s working (and what’s getting in the way)
•stay motivated and moving forward
Think of it like this:
You’re the captain. I’m your engineer.
We follow your musical curiosity — and I help make it playable.
